Starting from Egypt and Saudi Arabia.. Kuwaiti committees to examine the DNA of those who claim to be Kuwaiti

Security sources revealed to Al-Qabas that Egypt and Saudi Arabia represent the first two destinations of the joint committees that were recently formed by the Ministry of Interior, comprising officers and technicians in the General Administration of Nationality and Travel Documents and the General Department of Criminal Evidence, to investigate and identify Kuwaitis born and present outside Kuwait, claiming to be Kuwaitis, using DNA test.

The sources told Al-Qabas that the committees will go to the two countries after the national holidays, after they received official correspondences from the Kuwaiti embassies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia stating that there are people in the two countries claiming to be Kuwaitis, and they have applied to enter the country.

The sources stressed that this comes in implementation of the law and the protection of the Kuwaiti identity, and in interaction with the humanitarian cases resulting from the marriage of citizens.

The sources confirmed that if a sample of someone claiming to be Kuwaiti matches his father or relatives, he will be granted an entry visa to the country as a Kuwaiti citizen.

She stressed that the procedure for taking the DNA sample and matching it with the Kuwaiti father will prevent manipulation or exploitation or resort to the embassy to request a document or entry visa except in the correct and correct cases.
