Caimiao Village Primary School is a "micro school" in the mountainous area of northern Guizhou. There are only two teachers and six students in the school.
That day was the start of the spring semester. Two teachers, Zhu Shunliang and Wei Xian, took 5 children to start the first lesson of the new semester. Another student did not come to school due to a leave of absence.
