During the maintenance period, the ship locks of the Three Gorges North Line and the Three Gorges ship lifts are in operation with the No. 1 and No. 2 ship locks of Gezhouba.
The ship locks of the Three Gorges, Gezhouba and the two dams are open to navigation 24 hours a day, and a large number of equipment has been operating underwater for a long time.
The last time the ship lock of the Three Gorges South Line and the No. 3 ship lock of Gezhouba were suspended for maintenance were in 2018 and 2015 respectively.
