A portrait representing Emmanuel Macron injured in one eye was hidden by wooden planks in Amiens (Somme) this Saturday.

The drawing painted on a wall in the city by the Parisian artist Jaëraymie showed the head of state blinded on the left side and dressed in a yellow vest covering a black jacket.

The Somme prefecture did not wish to specify whether it was behind the operation intended to hide the drawing.

In any case, the latter generated varied reactions.

"It's a shame because this work is a form of freedom of expression", testified a resident defender of the right to blasphemy.

An operation diversely welcomed

Others lament the lack of aesthetics of concealment, wryly saying that “the wall is so much prettier now”.

Criticism had been raised about the work of street art, deemed to be capable of undermining the President of the Republic.
