Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 21st that it was confirmed that 928 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections to 48,485.
It was also announced that five people had died, bringing the total number of deaths to 224 to date.
The number of severely ill people is 25, which is the same as on the 20th.
