Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 20th that 1059 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections to 47,557.
It was also announced that five people had died, bringing the total number of deaths to 219 to date.
The number of seriously ill people has increased by one from 19th to 25.
