After having deserted the posters for nearly four years, Channing Tatum returns with a slew of projects.

First, the actor is preparing to release

Dog

, his first film behind the camera, while he will play opposite Sandra Bullock in

The Lost City

, a comedy adventure.

Finally, he prepares Magic Mike's Last Dance, the third installment of the

Magic Mike

franchise .

And as he told

People

, the actor really needed to take the time to put things in order to start again.

“I don't have a big plan and I don't think I ever had one.

Before taking a little vacation, I had an untenable rhythm.

It wasn't something I could really handle over the length.

I don't even know if I was really on top in some of the last movies I did.

I wanted to make sure I still had something to offer and that I wasn't doing it just to have a career.

Without the fuss

And one of the things that was really close to his heart was to start directing with Reid Carolin, his eternal writing and producing sidekick.

“Reid and I really needed to direct.

We've been talking about it for a really long time and I didn't want to accept the project just like that.

I wanted us to realize and see how it was going, ”continued Channing Tatum, before confiding that he took things a bit as they came now.

“Afterwards I took another job.

I worked with Sandra Bullock and it was great fun.

Now I just watch what will happen.

I don't want to worry too much, so I can enjoy my life and current projects while giving them the maximum.
