On the night of the 18th, there was a fire burning two houses in Otaru, Hokkaido, and two people were found dead.

The police consider each of them to be two men and women in their 70s who live in each house, and are proceeding with confirmation of their identities and investigating the cause of the fire.

Before 6 pm on the 18th, a man who seems to be a man living in this house reported to the police that he could see the fire in a house with two buildings in Akaiwa, Otaru City.

Nine fire trucks were dispatched and the fire was extinguished about two hours later, but police said the fire burned down two wooden one-story houses that were connected to each other, and two were found dead. I did.

After the fire, both men and women in their 70s could not be contacted, so the police thought that they died, and proceeded to confirm their identities and caused the fire. I'm investigating.

The site is a corner of a residential area about 3 km north of JR Otaru Station.
