The retired singer Hanan raises controversy about the veil and customary marriage

The retired Egyptian singer Hanan sparked controversy in Egypt after she admitted on the air her customary marriage to composer Khalil Mustafa because of her lack of love for him during the period of his association with him.

The singer Hanan said during her meeting with Suhair Joudeh, and Mufida Shiha during the “Satat” program, broadcast on “Al-Nahar” satellite channel, on Thursday evening: In his language, I do not know I love you right away, but I like you. That's when I got attached to him.

According to Al-Masry Al-Youm.

She revealed the reason for taking off the veil after wearing it for 5 years, explaining that it was her German husband's request for citizenship, saying: "I do not blame him because he is not the decision-maker, and the decision came from me."

Hanan added: "I went out before that on a program and said the words that I express myself, and it seems that it was wrong, but I said the things that happened with me in truth, but there are a large number of people who are annoyed with me, and I know that the veil is definitely an obligation and a very beautiful thing."

She pointed out that there are a large number of people who are not able to wear it, and not only me, "and I hope to wear it again."

She explained: "One of the reasons for my retirement from art is that I wore the hijab for a period of 5 years, and I could not bear to wear it despite my desire not to return to art again."

And she concluded: “The thing that gave me the strength to take off the veil, which is an incorrect decision, was my German husband, who asked me not to wear the veil, and I do not blame him because he is not the decision-maker, and the decision came from me, I mean, and currently I am fasting today, and I fast every Monday.
