Kazuyoshi Torii, a manga artist known for his gag manga "Dr. Toilet," died on the 9th of this month.

He was 75 years old.

Kazuyoshi Torii is from Aichi prefecture and made his debut as a manga artist after working as an assistant under the manga artist Fujio Akatsuka.



The gag manga "Dr. Toilet," which was serialized in a boy's magazine, was controversial at the time because of its vulgar and radical expressions, but it also gained the support of many readers and became Tori-san's masterpiece.



He continued to publish numerous works, and from 1980 he moved to Nagoya and worked on television and radio, and was active in a wide range of genres.



He has also been a professor at Aichi Shukutoku University for over 10 years, teaching students manga and design, and working hard to nurture younger generations.



According to his family, Tori-san died of pancreatic cancer at a hospital in Nagoya on the 9th of this month.



He was 75 years old.
