Sharif warns against malicious propaganda on “social media”
“Life” is the penalty for electronic incitement against the security and stability of the state

The legal advisor, Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif, warned against being drawn into malicious propaganda, which is being promoted through social media platforms, and which aims to undermine the security and stability of the state, as its promoters work in secret, sometimes with religious cover, and at other times, patriotic and nationalist, taking advantage of technical means. Information to prepare false bulletins and topics, and intends to disturb the system of the countries that are fighting it.
Al-Sharif warned that the UAE is not far from the clutches and ambitions of these people, whose hearts have deviated from the truth, and deliberately forged and distorted with the aim of harming national unity, trying to destabilize security, changing the system of government, questioning the unity of the Emirates, or inciting against the provisions of the Constitution or the texts of laws.
He pointed out in episodes broadcast by "Emirates Today" on its platforms, to shed light on the newly issued laws, that "some may go too far in criticism, and go outside the scope of the objective discussion of laws, such as clarifying the strengths and defects in a particular text, or certain texts, as academics do. Or legal experts, but the malicious intent denies the state and its policy the issuance of some legal texts, and promotes words and actions that would incite these provisions and laws.”
Al-Sharif explained that the legislator, in Article (20) of the Rumors Law, addressed these actions and sayings, stipulating a life sentence for anyone who established or managed a website, through which he called for the overthrow of the ruling system, and heart means calling for other than the existing rulers, or changing the regime. It means some of those who call in other countries to change the hereditary system of government that exists in us, or in the Gulf, to another system, or calls for the seizure of power, or the disruption of the provisions of the constitution, or laws, means violating the basic principles on which the system of government in the state is based, and all of that If using a computer network or an information technology means.
And in the second clause of Article (20) the legislator decided the same penalty, meaning life imprisonment, for anyone who promoted or incited any of the aforementioned acts or facilitated them for others.
