The Emirate of Sharjah has created a special language to narrate the emirate's cultural, architectural, artistic and heritage renaissance through an amazing mixture of colors and music, taking the audience to worlds of joy and sensual and visual pleasure, over the course of 11 nights.

During a field tour in various locations, "Emirates Today" monitored stunning performances of the Sharjah Lights Festival, which is being held for the 11th year in a row, bringing together audiences of different nationalities to enjoy light shows on its various landmarks and buildings, informing them about the culture and history of the emirate in an atmosphere of joy and pleasure.

The festivals attracted families, photography professionals, tourists and content makers, to watch the light shows and document the messages of each teacher, since the first day of the festival's launch.

"Sharjah Lights" festivals have succeeded in transforming the city into an amazing mixture of colors and music, where light technologies are used in innovative ways that not only add beauty to the place, but also take the audience on a journey to another world completely far from reality, where it sometimes takes them on a journey to the distant past. And another time on a journey to the world of the future, where lights blend with international music and colors, in amazing harmony, embodied the most beautiful paintings on the facades of the most prominent architectural edifices, and over the course of 11 nights, the audience enjoys moving to new horizons of creativity that reflects Sharjah’s cultural, architectural and artistic richness and heritage.

The emirate hosts the most prominent international artists who have excelled in adapting light and music to present the most beautiful and most attractive modern light shows and to highlight the rich and beautiful features of Sharjah.

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority is organizing, for the 11th year in a row, the Sharjah Lights Festival under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Union and Ruler of Sharjah, as a culmination of his vision to enhance the position of the Emirate of Sharjah on the global tourism map.

The festival is the most prominent event on the Emirate's agenda, as it highlights the masterpieces of the Islamic architectural heritage in Sharjah, and attracts thousands of visitors from inside and outside the country.

The festival sites receive visitors during weekdays to enjoy performances from six in the evening until 11 in the evening, while it receives visitors during the weekend from six in the evening until 12 midnight.

The shows will continue until February 20 in all locations across the emirate, including three architectural edifices adorned with artistic panels of lights embodying the emirate's achievements and its future, such as the Al Majaz Waterfront, the Holy Quran Complex, and the University City Hall in Sharjah.

The Sharjah Lights Festival narrates its message through several stations that include the most prominent cultural and heritage landmarks in the emirate. Each station carries a special message that is delivered through a special show of lights and music, including “A Journey Through Heritage,” which tells the festival’s light shows on the building of the Hamriyah Municipality three pillars. The traditional heritage of the Emirate of Sharjah, which includes the coastal history and economic growth of the Emirate over the past five decades, leads to scenes of the current prosperity and success of the Emirate of Sharjah.

And the “Splendor of Harmony and Contrast” station, which highlights the harmony and contrast in the emirate through its displays on the Al Noor Mosque, which is a unique architectural icon located on the shores of Khalid Lake in Sharjah. The elements and originality of Islamic art have been used through time as a basic language in this universe.

And the “Flowers of the Future” station, where the majestic Al Hajar Mountains behind the Rafisa Dam are transformed into a panoramic display that tells the story of the bright future.

The show begins with a traveler making his way through majestic, rock-strewn mountains from the past to the present and the future.

The "Human Energy through Heritage and History" station, which is being installed on a number of government departments in the Kalba region, highlights the power of human energy, innovation, development and originality through vibrant colors and forms, while the "Language of Eternity" station, which is built on the Holy Qur'an Complex, is based. In Sharjah, in a narrative style called kidnapping as a successor, which is going back in time, but the beginning here is from the future and from infinity down to the earth, where the language of eternity integrates various civilized sciences such as engineering, Arabic calligraphy and arabesque patterns in one crucible that highlights the lofty position of Islamic civilization.

The "spiral of light" in the University City Hall is one of Sharjah's most prominent architectural icons, as it embodies the great interest that the emirate attaches to education and heritage and is the appropriate place for this story, which depicts the wise vision that laid the foundation for the past 50 years and the next 50 years.

The "Festival Arcade" station features a display in the middle of Al Majaz Waterfront with its advanced technical techniques, which will transport the audience to a diverse art exhibition of the festival's light panels, in addition to displaying the most prominent tourist and cultural attractions of Sharjah.
