The possibility of being prescribed a session with a psychologist is approaching… Professionals ready to participate in the “MonPsy” consultation support system can apply as of this Thursday.

The Ministry of Health, which announced the news, hopes for the first reimbursements to be in place for April.

“Since this morning, the application platform has been accessible on the monpsy.sante.gouv.fr website for all volunteer psychologists,” the ministry said in a statement, ensuring that “the care pathways and reimbursements for sessions of psychologists by Health Insurance will therefore be able to start in April 2022”.

Mandatory prescription

Emmanuel Macron announced at the end of September the reimbursement by Social Security of eight consultations with psychologists for children over three years old and adults suffering from depressive and anxiety disorders of mild to moderate intensity.

However, this care will be provided under conditions: patients must be referred by medical prescription (from a general practitioner, pediatrician, geriatrician, school doctor, PMI, etc.) and must consult one of the partner psychologists of the system (referenced from April on the website monpsy.sante.gouv.fr).

Sessions of 30 or 40 euros

In 2022, an envelope of 50 million euros will be devoted to this system.

The first session will be charged 40 euros and the following 30. “Psychologists will be able to engage in MonPsy while continuing their existing activity in parallel”, specifies the ministry.

This device, like several other measures put in place by the government since the Covid-19 epidemic, is not unanimous among psychologists, some rejecting the compulsory passage by a general practitioner and judging the prices insufficient.
