As there are a number of cases where helpers care for elderly people infected with the new coronavirus, businesses have requested the government to add nursing care fees.

The request was made by a group made up of three home-visit care providers in Tokyo and Saitama Prefecture.

On the 17th, a request for additional long-term care fees was signed with the signatures of about 40,000 people, saying that there are a series of cases where helpers care for the elderly and disabled who have become infected with the new corona or become close contacts. I submitted it to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

For helpers who eat, bathe, and assist with excretion for a long time while carrying the risk of infection, businesses provide their own allowances and prepare masks and protective clothing, but the financial burden is high. It is said to be large.

Since some helpers have become close contacts through long-term care, we are requesting the government to establish a system that allows them to receive examinations promptly after adding compensation such as home-visit medical care and home-visit nursing.

Shinichi Yoshida, the representative of the group, said at the press conference, "Helpers are trying hard to support the elderly even without financial support from the country, but it is unreasonable that they do not recognize the value. Even in the midst of a serious labor shortage, it may not be possible to support home care as it is. "
