Yongbulakang is located on the Zhaxi Mountain in the southeast of Zedang Town, Nedong District, Shannan City, Tibet. Historical records recorded that it was built in the 2nd century BC and was designated as a Tibet Autonomous Region-level cultural relics protection unit in 1962.

In recent years, the relevant departments have carried out comprehensive protection and maintenance of the first palace in Tibet, Yongbulakang, in accordance with the principle of repairing the old as the old, so that the former palace can be restored to its grandeur.
