The boycott of Israel movement aims through the "Boycott Puma" campaign to pressure the company to end what it described as complicity with the settler colonial regime and Israeli apartheid.

The boycott campaign received wide interaction on social media platforms by supporters of the Palestinian cause, as activists circulated through the hashtag (Boycott Puma) clips and photos of protests against the company in various regions around the world, including London and South Africa.

The current campaign is the sixth against Puma since 2018, most notably Qatar Club's announcement of its intention not to renew its contract with it, and the decision of the English club "Chester" not to contract with the company.

Interactions with the campaign

Among the interactions that were monitored in an episode (16/2/2022) of the "National Newsletter - Your Post" program was Hani Al-Kharraz's tweet, in which he said that it is shameful for sports clubs to continue to use Puma's products despite the constant appeals to them.

Activist Hatem Al-Yafei called for the necessity of spreading the culture of boycott and raising public awareness of the importance and feasibility of campaigns to boycott international companies in support of the occupying Zionist entity.

Al-Yafei added - in his tweet - that Puma Sports Company is one of these international companies, and that the least that can be offered to Palestinian athletes is to boycott its products.

For his part, Abdel-Mohaimen Badri wrote that Puma has an opportunity to reverse its flawed position, which is complicit in violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, as its contract with the Israeli Football Association expires in June 2022.

Badri called for escalating pressure on the company to end all forms of complicity.

As for Amal Al-Heisi, she tweeted, "Puma and other big companies do not respond to messages and pleas...monsters of money only understand one language, financial loss, no one has to wear this cheap brand."
