The most expensive sandwich in Egypt.. 24 karat gold skewer

An Egyptian restaurant offers the most expensive sandwich, which is salted fish with 24 karat gold, at a price of up to 100 pounds, equivalent to 7 dollars.

In the city of Mansoura, north of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, a young Egyptian opened a restaurant, the first of its kind in the country, serving salted fesikh mixed with a crust of gold, and began to attract many customers who saw in it a new look and a different taste.

Omar Makram, one of the owners of the restaurant, says, according to Al Arabiya.net, that he was inspired by the idea from restaurants in Turkey and Dubai, and he imports gold through a friend from India to mix it with fesikh. It is accepted by all chefs in the world.

He explained that his idea of making sandwiches with fesikh is because it is an ancient Egyptian popular meal, in addition to the multiplicity of types of salted fish that can be used, such as herring and sardines, as well as the ease of storing, manufacturing and preserving them for long periods.

The young man, who graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, stated that he decided to develop the method of serving fesikh and herring, by cleaning it and turning it into empty fesikh and cutting it into small pieces that are placed in a sandwich, with pepper and onion slices added to it, and then decorated with 24 karat gold.

He says that fesikh can also be made from a variety of fish such as mullet and fish of the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, and each type has its customers and lovers. Therefore, fesikh was chosen in sandwiches to attract all customers who love fish of different types, and it was developed and presented to them in a different way as a new experience.
