In his speech to the "Beyond the News" program (13/2/2022), he pointed out that there are threats to the Russian borders, at a time when America is working to evacuate its citizens and provide military equipment at the same time, which he considered a provocation and incitement to the population inside Ukraine to wage war in the region.

The professor of international relations also said that it is a matter of misleading and misdirecting world public opinion, because Russia is not participating in the fighting in the Donbas region, recalling that America launched an operation against Russia two years ago and began to punish it, stressing that there is no Russian military participation.

However, he made it clear that the observers have a key role, as in the event of any tension, Russia cannot remain passive towards any military attack or the displacement of the region's population.

On the other hand, Donald Jensen, a former US diplomat in Moscow, said that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe provides very important services by monitoring the situation in Donbass.

He pointed out that the representatives were withdrawn because they are on the line of the possible Russian attack, and Moscow did not take this seriously and violated the ceasefire several times, so the cautious measure is to withdraw them in the event that Russia attacks the region.

The American diplomat also explained that the Russian army is deployed in the region and supports the regime in Donbass, stressing that the region is part of the Ukrainian territory, and Russia granted them (the region's residents) citizenship in order to justify its military intervention, expressing his hope that an agreement and negotiations will be reached between the parties to the crisis.

This came after America began withdrawing its observers from the Ukrainian Donbass region, after warning of an imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine, a move that Moscow considered a provocation, in light of an artificial escalation.

This development comes after the failure of talks between the US and Russian presidents to contain the crisis, and in conjunction with maneuvers and Russian military build-up near Ukraine.

On the other hand, Moscow massed its major military ships in the Black Sea, and the "Wall Street Journal" quoted Ukrainian officials as suggesting that Russia would launch a campaign of destabilization against their country rather than a large-scale invasion.

It is noteworthy that the Pentagon has not confirmed the authenticity of reports that a Russian invasion of Ukraine may take place next Wednesday, at a time when Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that Russian warships began the active phase of their maneuvers in the Black Sea.
