Actually we are right in the middle of the

awards season

.

Traditionally, it starts at the beginning of January with the presentation of the Golden Globes.

Leading up to the grand finale with the Oscars at the end of February, there are a number of galas on the calendar, which are nice opportunities for celebs to show off and for everyone else a faint touch of glamor in those weeks that are more to get through than to experience.

Hardly any pictures of dresses this

award season

Things have changed for a while, there aren't any actresses talking about juice diets and Korean facials in preparation for an event these days.

There are only sporadic appearances of beautiful people who accept a tribute here and there.

And there are hardly any pictures of dresses on these beautiful people on red carpets.

Because of Corona.

In addition, there are special effects such as, in the case of the Golden Globes, the protest against the organizers.

The allegations: bribery, sexism, racism.

Black from London to Berlin

The past week was an exception in this quiet and at the same time overly long

awards season

due to the Oscars being postponed to the end of March .

There hasn't been so much red carpet for a long time and therefore: so many dresses.

The Brit Awards were presented in London on Tuesday evening.

(And the question afterwards was: What is Adele trying to say with the diamond ring on her finger?)

The opening of the Berlinale was scheduled for Thursday in Berlin.

So it was black dress week.

In London, Adele wore a black velvet dress with her sparkle stone, while in Berlin Marie Bäumer, Heike Makatsch, Svenja Jung and Sibel Kikelli also wore black.

In fashion-speak it is called a timeless classic.

Or just: clothes for the time when life and the parties are subject to change.
