Last year, the Ibaraki Prefectural Police Headquarters arrested a former owner of a 31-year-old store on suspicion of abandoning the body of a male employee of the Mahjong store near a graveyard in Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

The person arrested was Soichiro Otsubo (31), who lives in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture.

Last June, near a graveyard in Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Kazuhiko Kitada (59), an employee of the Mahjong store in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture, was found dead wrapped in a futon.

The cause of death was thought to be suffocation due to being strangled, and police have been investigating it as if it had been abandoned after the murder.

As a result, it was found from the images taken by the security cameras that Mr. Otsubo, who was running the Mahjong store where Mr. Kitada worked at that time, was suspected of having carried the body by car and abandoned it.

According to the investigation so far, the suspect has been running the store since October, but the two have been acquainted for several years.

The police are investigating the detailed situation at that time and will continue to clarify how Mr. Kitada died in the future.

Police have not disclosed whether they have admitted the charges as interfering with the investigation.
