The incident, rare in winter, fell badly in the middle of the crossover of the February holidays.

This Sunday, access to the Superbagnères ski resort, on the heights of Luchon, in the Pyrenees, was blocked in both directions due to a vegetation fire.

According to the Haute-Garonne prefecture, the vegetation fire broke out around 2 p.m. on a slope starting from this road and generated "a release of smoke preventing traffic".

On site, 28 firefighters were mobilized to contain the flames fanned by strong gusts of wind, with the support of a helicopter from the high mountain gendarmerie platoon (PGHM).
