The former Bundeswehr officer Franco A., who is suspected of being a terrorist, has been arrested again in Offenbach.

As a police spokesman confirmed on Saturday on request, there was a police operation in connection with the Offenbacher late on Friday evening at the "Ledermuseum" S-Bahn station.

The spokesman did not give the background.

Apparently he had become "conspicuous" in the station.

Franco A. was finally arrested during the operation, but was later released.

There were apparently no grounds for detention.

The former Bundeswehr soldier is currently on trial before the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court on suspicion of a serious act of violence endangering the state.

The process is nearing its end.

Franco A. is accused of having planned attacks on politicians, among others.

According to the indictment, he deliberately wanted to do this under a false identity.

So he posed as a Syrian refugee.
