Where is Chamonix?

It is a small town in France.

The town has fewer than 8,000 people today, and probably even fewer in 1924.

With 16 natural villages, the town of Chamonix hosted more than 200 athletes from 16 countries that year - the first Winter Olympics.

The history of sleigh sliding has passed for nearly a hundred years. The 24th Winter Olympics has been held, and Beijing has become the city of double Olympics.

For nearly a hundred years, human athletes have enthusiastically expressed the Olympic spirit in the ice and snow.

In order to give readers a more systematic understanding of the Centennial Winter Olympics, the People's Publishing House invited Mr. Gerard Sarre, a former senior journalist of the French "L'Equipe", and Wanchamp Lauder, the former president of the extra-time publishing house under the French "L'Equipe". Mr. Te is the chief author, and together with the "great gods" of China's "Sports Weekly", they have contributed to the final compilation of the book "From Chamonix to Beijing - A Century of Winter Olympics".
