A system for lawyers and courts to exchange documents such as claims and evidence on the Web has been completed while the IT procedure in civil courts is being promoted, and trial operation will be conducted at the district courts in Kofu and Otsu from 15th this month. It will start.

What was developed is a system called "mints" that allows lawyers and judges to exchange civil trial documents on the Web, and the Supreme Court released it to the media on the 10th.

In civil courts, it was necessary to submit a huge amount of documents such as allegations and evidence to the court by mail, bring, or fax, but with the introduction of the system, it is possible to submit in electronic files, and the lawyer of the other party is also a judge. It means that you will be able to see it anytime and anywhere.

Complaints that are only allowed to be mailed or brought by law are not covered, but the government is aiming for full IT in civil trials by the 7th year of Reiwa, and is preparing for the revision of the law.

The trial operation will start in the district courts of Kofu and Otsu from the 15th of this month, and will be gradually expanded to courts nationwide such as Tokyo and Osaka from April.

Tetsuya Uchida, Counselor of the Civil Affairs Bureau of the Supreme Court, said, "It will be convenient to share documents that have taken time and effort. We want to lead to a prompt and appropriate resolution of civil trials."
