The Orléans public prosecutor's office has confirmed to our colleagues from
La République du Center
that an investigation has been opened for suspicion of abuse concerning a resident of the Château des Landes nursing home, in La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, no far from Orléans, reveals the Loiret newspaper.
Owned by the Korian group, this private establishment had welcomed the retiree, suffering from Alzheimer's, in October 2020.
His daughter, noticing a lack of hygiene and a lack of supervision, had taken her father to the emergency room several times because of repeated falls.
She filed a complaint in December 2021. The man died on July 28.
Management recognizes a "dysfunction"
With France Bleu Orléans, the new director of the establishment recognized a “dysfunction” due in particular to the absence of management for sick leave.
From now on, a meeting is organized each month with the families of the residents and the staff has been reinforced.
Like Orpea, the Korian group is the target of several similar accusations in a number of establishments in France.
Class action is being considered.
