She described him as an "entertainment media person." Al-Azhar newspaper attacks Amr Adib and accuses him of "exporting ignorance."

The newspaper "Voice of Al-Azhar" launched a stinging attack on the Egyptian media, Amr Adib, accusing him of "propagating rumors and exporting ignorance to the Egyptians."

The newspaper’s attack, affiliated with the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, came against the backdrop of Adeeb’s handling of the issue of wife-beating for discipline, in his episode broadcast on MBC Egypt, on January 31.

"Voice of Al-Azhar" described Amr Adeeb as a "entertainment journalist" and counted 12 professional violations in which he committed, including "broadcasting false news about the adoption of beatings by Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, and spreading rumors about Al-Azhar's standing against the issuance of a law to deter the hitter."

The violations also included "cutting the context to export an incorrect image of Al-Azhar and its sheikh, falsifying facts with allegations of Al-Azhar's lack of respect for the constitution, and conducting a dialogue in the absence of a representative of Al-Azhar."

The newspaper accused Adeeb of "refusing the right to reply, persevering in the error, and avoiding broadcasting a video of the 3-year-old Sheikh of Al-Azhar calling for a law prohibiting beatings, and seeking the assistance of a court-convicted guest as an expert in the same field of his conviction," in reference to the preacher Islam Al-Buhairi.

According to the newspaper, “Adeeb exported linguistic and jurisprudential ignorance by empowering non-specialists and plaintiffs without adhering to the media codes for the criteria for selecting guests, spreading an atmosphere of hatred and threatening social peace, by provoking strife between husbands and wives and between women and the Al-Azhar Foundation, and encouraged domestic violence by suggesting that beating women is without current legal punishment He enjoys floral approval."

Amr Adib had raised the issue of “wife beating for the purpose of discipline”, in the “Al-Hekaya” program, and talked about Al-Azhar’s position, saying: “We return to many words and statements more than once to the eminence of the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, who is speaking that his interpretation of the verse of discipline is abandonment and rebuke and then the third stage. be beating."

And he made a telephone interview with Islam Bahiri, during which the latter commented on the words of Al-Tayyib, and said that "the disobedience of the woman mentioned in Surat Al-Nisa talks about marital infidelity and has nothing to do with women, discipline and discipline," pointing out that "the wife is not a student in the school and the husband is not an observer."

He added: "The words of the Sheikh of Al-Azhar are wrong and against the constitution, with full appreciation for what the Grand Imam said. It does not concern us completely. In the end, it is an advisory opinion. His words are wrong and against the constitution. He creates a jungle state that has nothing to do with the Sharia that we defend."

And last Saturday, the Jurisprudence Research Committee of the Islamic Research Academy in Al-Azhar issued a statement, confirming that “the marital relationship is based on housing, affection and mercy, and the husband is obliged to live with his wife in a kind manner, and to exaggerate her honor and kindness to her, and for this reason beating wives is prohibited according to the origin, and it is not permissible Resorting to it unless it is imposed by the necessity of saving the family from loss due to the wife’s disobedience and contempt for her husband by being superior to him, so that its permissibility is a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils, and the lesser of two evils.

The committee clarified: “If some people have abused what is permissible in this place and others, and used it in cases of disobedience and other than disobedience without fulfilling its conditions, or considering the consequences that it entails, then the guardian has the right to restrict the use of this permissible.”

She continues, "There is no objection to discussing the issue of beatings in general, in a way that prevents this outrageous behavior."
