[New Year Chronicle] Ancient villages reproduce Huizhou wedding customs

Throwing hydrangea, choosing a good son-in-law, riding a big horse, carrying a sedan chair... On February 8, a wedding with a unique traditional Huizhou folk culture was staged in Hongcun, a world cultural heritage site in Yixian County, Anhui Province.

The groom rides a tall horse, the bride sits on a big red sedan chair, and the mighty procession of honor guards walks the streets and alleys of Hongcun with the sound of gongs and drums holding festive lanterns.

"The reason why I chose this method of marriage is because my wife is from Hongcun with beautiful scenery, and I want to give her a traditional Chinese wedding, which can not only experience the traditional marriage customs passed down in ancient Huizhou for thousands of years, but also better carry forward traditional folk customs. Culture is meaningful and a good memory." Xu Bo, the groom who held the wedding, said happily.

This folk wedding attracted many tourists to stop and watch.

Nowadays, in Yi County, more and more young people choose this traditional wedding method to fix their "life events".

It is understood that traditional weddings have a history of thousands of years in China.

This time, Huizhou wedding customs re-displayed the traditional culture. By participating in the authentic folk wedding, let everyone understand the traditional wedding culture, have a deeper understanding of the folk customs, and taste the customs of Huizhou.

The wedding also invited the Hongcun lantern team and the unicorn dance, which closely integrated traditional folk customs and wedding customs.
