The TMC channel (which belongs to the TF1 group) broadcast Wednesday evening "Nikos in real life, in the shadow of the lights", a 90-minute documentary devoted to Nikos Aliagas.

Its director Valérie Inizan explains at the microphone of Europe 1 what interested her in the career of this star presenter of the front page.

... Over the years, cult shows and vocal tics, Nikos Aliagas has established himself as one of the great figures of TF1 and French television.

To the point that TMC (which belongs to the TF1 group) devotes a documentary to him on Wednesday evening, 

Nikos in real life, in the shadow of the lights

.

The film, which marks the presenter's 20 years on the air, is commented on by his journalist friend Tatiana Silva.

Certainly, all viewers are familiar with the face of Nikos Aliagas.

But the presenter has always been quite secretive and modest about his private life.

He opens up for the first time in this film which goes back to his birth.

"Nikos really deserved a documentary just about him, because as soon as we start to look at his life, his journey and his passions, we realize that there are many aspects to approach", explains us Valérie Inizan, director of the documentary.

"Already, there is the double culture, Greek and French, there are the humble origins, the fact that he does not come from the seraglio of the world of television. That the road has sometimes been winding, too. There is clearly there is a story of destiny, an inspiring journey to retrace. 90 minutes, it may seem like a long time said like that. But I think I could have done a lot more."

In the film, his mother, his sister, his wife and his longtime friends come back to his childhood, his passion for photography, his debut on television.

And also his failures.

The film returns, for example, to the complicated launch of

Star Academy

, which took a long time to take off.

Other of his famous friends, such as Florent Pagny, Jenifer, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Zazie, Jean-Paul Rouve and Stéphane Bern, recount their meeting with Nikos and the memories they shared together.
