"Affah" .. A Saudi site to heal pornographic films in 100 days

The non-profit program "Affah" has launched a new challenge in 100 days in order to provide the necessary help to recover from addiction to watching pornography in Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf countries.

The director of the "Chastity" program, Saudi Al-Hassani, revealed that "The Chastity Challenge" will be the first site to operate a self-help mechanism to recover from porn addiction.

Al-Hassani stated that the "chastity challenge" includes 10 steps for divine recovery in the coming month of Ramadan, in addition to the "women's recovery model" within about a month.

The Chastity Challenge targets divine recovery, which is a psychological counseling program provided by consultant psychiatrist Dr. Abdullah Al-Mulhim and focuses on three axes, namely:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy

  • spiritual therapy

  • Provide a safe support environment

The benefits of the Chastity Challenge include:

  • Understanding the dimensions of the porn problem

  • Why can't you stop yet

  • An explanation of the steps of divine recovery in light of the understanding of the problem

  • Weekly interactive meetings for support and assistance Learn about the success stories of the recovered in Effa

Al-Hassani pointed out that the rate of exposure to pornography starts from the age of 11 to 13 years, while some global indicators indicate that the age is less than that, as it starts from the age of 8 years in some countries, noting that several cases were recorded that began exposure to pornographic materials and films at this early age. .

And about the length of time that an addict of pornographic materials and films needs to recover, Al-Hassani explained, "It depends on the duration of the past addict's viewing, the quality and intensity of the scenes, and the length of the viewing period, they are different."

He added, "But there are those who talk about 90 days or 3 months, and as an addictive habit, recovery may reach 18 months and some up to 5 years until a person reaches his normal life away from the addictive habit."

The Effa program was launched in 2019 and is a psychological counseling program.
