TEPCO started the investigation of the inside of the containment vessel at Unit 1 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, which had been postponed due to trouble, on the 8th, about a month later than planned.

The investigation started after 11:00 am on the 8th after confirming whether the robot and built-in equipment worked normally, and while checking on the monitor, the robot was remotely controlled and put into the containment vessel where water was accumulated. Did.

At the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, deposits that appear to be "fuel debris" have been confirmed at Units 2 and 3 in previous surveys, but have not yet been confirmed at Unit 1.

In the survey, six types of robots with different functions will be used to measure the thickness and distribution of sediments that are thought to be in the water with ultrasonic waves, and a small amount will be collected as a sample. We are planning to work on securing the path for the robot.

The investigation was originally scheduled to start on the 12th of last month, but it was postponed due to problems such as the data of the radiation dose measuring device built into the robot not being displayed accurately during the preparatory work.

According to TEPCO, the survey was originally planned for August, but the start is delayed by about a month, so the end time is expected to be delayed.
