China News Agency, Nanjing, February 7 (Reporter Yang Yanci) On the first day of the Year of the Tiger, Jiangnan opened with a poetic ink painting.

On the 7th, many places in Jiangsu ushered in heavy snowfall.

The snowflakes that have been "repressed" since the Spring Festival broke out instantly, and the depth of local snow reached 20 cm in a short period of time.

Affected by both the cold and warm air currents, Jiangsu ushered in a round of rain and snow, and the "eye of the storm" of this round of flying snow is the Jiangnan region.

According to the Jiangsu Meteorological Department, Nanjing, Taizhou, Yangzhou and other places ushered in snowfall.

In the southwestern part of Jiangsu, the cloudy turned to moderate to heavy snow, and some areas were blizzard;

The meteorological department predicts that Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Wuxi, Taizhou and Yangzhou will accumulate 5 cm to 10 cm of snow.

Local snow accumulation in places such as southern Nanjing and Wuxi mountain hills can reach 10 cm to 20 cm.

From the early morning of the 7th, snowflakes were flying all over Nanjing, and it did not stop until the afternoon.

A reporter from China News Agency saw on the road that many branches had been crushed and fallen by snow; there were few pedestrians on the street, and vehicles took the initiative to turn on their lights and slow down.

In the Nanjing Confucius Temple area, the hustle and bustle of the lanterns has become quiet and poetic.

Under the white sky, the blue bricks and black tiles are covered with white snow, "colliding" with the red lanterns and Qinhuai lanterns, just like the time in poetry and painting.

Many citizens walked slowly with umbrellas to record the rare snowy New Year with their cameras.

Southern children finally ushered in the "freedom of snowmen".

The "Snowman Forecast Map" released by the Jiangsu Meteorological Department shows that as the snowfall continues, the southwestern part of Jiangsu can "realize the freedom of snowmen, and build them as you want"; the eastern coastal areas are "mini snowmen, make do with play".

"I bought a snowman tool for almost half a month and finally used it! I can build a ice pier by myself." Chen Sui, a Nanjing citizen, told a reporter from China News Agency: "In order to welcome the snowy day, I specially bought a complete set for my daughter. I also prepared some snow-related songs and stories, hoping to give my daughter an unforgettable Snow New Year."

Because Blizzard is at the peak of the return journey after the year, the three-dimensional traffic in Jiangsu has been tested.

Nanjing Railway Station and Nanjing South Railway Station are expected to send 80,000 passengers on the 7th. In response to the snowfall, the stations quickly launched a secondary snow and ice removal plan.

Up to now, all trains at the station are running in normal order.

Affected by the snowfall, many bridges across the river in Jiangsu Province have implemented secondary traffic control.

According to information from Nanjing Lukou International Airport, 26 flights have been cancelled so far, and flight adjustments will be made in the future.
