For Cara Delevingne, growing up as a “queer child” was not easy and it took her a long time to accept herself.

Even if she could count on the love of her family and in particular the support of her two sisters, her difference weighed on her.

“I felt isolated growing up as a queer kid and it was hard to live with at times.

My sisters did their best to be there for me but it was something I had to go through on my own to really know who I was,” she told The

Sunday Times

in an interview with her sisters. Poppy and Chloe.

The strength of difference

“I soon realized that I couldn't be the same – everyone goes their own way – but they showed me the most basic things I had to learn in life… I'm still on that path and that. will be the case for the rest of my life, ”continued Cara Delevingne.

Today, the actress is outspoken about her pansexual orientation, which means she can feel attracted to anyone regardless of their sex or gender identity.

And she hopes to be an inspiration to those who are going through similar ordeals to those she has known.

"The thing that I'm happy about growing up as a queer kid and struggling with it and hiding it is that it made me want to and the energy to try to make people's lives easier in some way by talking about it,” she added in a second interview with

Harper's Bazaar
