中新社香港2月5日电 针对美国众议院2月4日通过包含涉港内容的所谓“2022年美国竞争法案”，肆意抹黑诋毁中央政府涉港政策，阻挠和破坏香港特区拨乱反正，公然挑衅“一国两制”原则底线，粗暴干预香港事务和中国内政，践踏国际法和国际关系基本准则，中国外交部驻香港特别行政区特派员公署(外交部驻港公署)发言人表示强烈谴责和坚决反对。
发言人指出，任何不带偏见的人都能看到，随着香港国安法有效实施、新选举制度的成功实践，香港正走出“泛政治化”漩涡，走上优质民主、实质民主之路，呈现民众安居乐业、社会海晏河清的全新气象。香港作为国际金融、航运、贸易中心的地位不断巩固，香港同胞享有比历史上任何时候都广泛的民主权利和自由。国际货币基金组织日前发表报告再次肯定香港的主要国际金融中心地位，香港美国商会的最新调查报告也显示，在港美企对香港营商前景的信心比去年大为增强。事实雄辩证明，香港国安法是保国家安全和香港安宁的好法律，新选举制度是符合“一国两制”原则和香港实际、有利于确保香港长期繁荣稳定的好制度。香港由乱到治的局面不断巩固，由治及兴的大势不可逆转。
发言人表示，有关法案以竞争之名，行遏制之实，塞入个别反华政客炮制的涉港负面内容，颠倒黑白、混淆视听，充分暴露美政客打“香港牌”遏制中国发展的险恶用心。他们对香港社会盼望良政善治、长治久安的主流民意充耳不闻，却与极少数反中乱港分子沆瀣一气，惺惺作态提供所谓“安全港”。他们口口声声捍卫民主、人权等“普世价值”，干的却是为了维护自身霸权不惜祸乱香港、牺牲港人利益的肮脏勾当，包藏的是“以港遏华”的祸心。
The spokesperson stressed that lies cannot hide the truth, and dark clouds cannot hide the sun.
The rhetoric of individual anti-China politicians cannot distort the reality of the stable development of Hong Kong society, nor shake the confidence of the majority of Hong Kong citizens to forge ahead in unity towards a bright future.
No external intervention can shake China's strong will to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests, nor can it shake the central government's firm determination to fully and accurately implement "one country, two systems".
We urge U.S. politicians to recognize the general trend as soon as possible, pull back from the brink, immediately stop grandstanding political performances, immediately stop advancing relevant bills, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs.
Any attempt to curb China's development by playing the "Hong Kong card" is tantamount to a fool's dream and is doomed to failure.
