The COVID-19 situation in Hong Kong continues to be severe.

On January 27, the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced that there were 164 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong, a single-day high since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in Hong Kong in 2020.

Among them, 116 are local infections, of which 12 are cases of unknown origin.

Xu Lejian, director of the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection, pointed out that the current risk of new coronavirus transmission in the community is extremely high, and calls on the public to take precautions and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
