In September 2021, after a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and reporting to the Provincial Party Committee for approval, it was decided to give He Meihua the sanction of expulsion from the party; the Provincial Supervisory Commission would give him the sanction of dismissal from public office; confiscate his illegal income; transfer his suspected crimes to the procuratorial organs Review and prosecute in accordance with the law, and transfer the involved property together.
In November 2021, under the jurisdiction designated by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Procuratorate, the Shaoxing Municipal People's Procuratorate filed a public prosecution with the Shaoxing Intermediate People's Court against He Meihua on suspicion of taking bribes.
In December 2021, the Shaoxing Intermediate People's Court sentenced He Meihua to ten years and six months in prison for accepting bribes, and fined him RMB 1.8 million.

欲望的阀门一旦打开，便给了别有用心的人可乘之机。不少老板为了达到目的，通过各种方式“围猎”何美华。比如，老板朱某某为解决企业发展空间问题，连续四年春节都送给何美华金条；老板楼某某为解决该公司办公楼改建问题，以送茶叶为名，送其金条……
渐渐地，何美华的底线完全失守，对送礼者来者不拒。不论是玉石、手表、画作、茅台酒、消费卡，还是人民币、美金、港币现金等，何美华通通收下，家里的书柜变成了礼品柜。
经查，2008年至2009年，何美华多次收受浙江某食品有限公司法定代表人方某某所送鸡血石13块及和田玉制“古玉铜镜”摆件。
2008年5月、2012年1月，何美华先后收受浙江某车辆股份有限公司法定代表人贾某某所送金条5块。
2010年2月、2011年1月，何美华先后收受义乌市某建设开发有限公司实际控制人吴某某所送鸡血石印章1枚、“春到苗寨”画作1幅。
2015年9月至2021年2月每年中秋节、春节期间，何美华先后12次收受某贸易服务集团有限公司法定代表人冯某某所送的茅台酒，共计飞天茅台酒20箱120瓶、“十五年”茅台酒2瓶……
何美华交代：“我收受的最大一笔现金是老板楼某某送到我办公室的20万美金，我收惯了礼品礼金，没怎么犹豫就放进了保险箱。以为只是两人经手，天知地知，你知我知，放在保险箱是最保险的。现在想来，真是自欺欺人。”
不正之风是滋生腐败的温床，腐败往往是“四风”从量变转为质变的结果。何美华正是从一顿饭、一包烟、一瓶酒、一张卡开始腐化堕落，由风及腐，风腐交织，从不守小节向腐化堕落演变，从破纪走向破法，从人民公仆蜕变为人民罪人。
公私不分，既想当官又想发财，利用多种手段收受财物共计4524万余元
党员领导干部的职权、地位来自公权力，公权力一旦“脱缰”，成为攫取个人私利的工具，就可能产生极大风险。
2010年11月，义乌市政府与某建设集团有限责任公司解除了某生态园项目开发协议，约定以招拍挂方式出让123亩土地作为补偿，在扣除土地出让金计提项目后，超过地价款部分先征后返。2010年下半年，该公司负责人顾某某与他人合作，以义乌市某房地产开发有限公司为项目公司，向该集团承包开发上述123亩土地。后因计提费率产生分歧，义乌市政府暂缓向该项目公司返还土地出让金。
2011年下半年，为尽快取得土地出让金返还款，顾某某与东阳市某置业有限公司法定代表人包某某商议，由包某某出面请托何美华帮忙，并向何美华承诺事成后给予其2000万元好处费。何美华接受请托后，很快就召开市长办公会议，要求有关部门抓紧实施土地出让金返还事宜，帮助上述房地产开发公司在极短时间内获得了26亿余元土地出让金返还款。
“我那时候也不敢直接收，觉得太危险。思来想去，最后以借为名，拿了这2000万元，投资拟上市的义乌某服饰公司‘以钱生钱’。”何美华说。
在贪欲的驱使下，何美华胆子越来越大，敛财手段也越来越多。
何美华有自己的“小聪明”。他坦言道：“久在体制内，我深知领导干部不能‘既想当官又想发财’的道理，但是依然压制不住‘想赚钱’的欲望。如何‘两者兼得’又能‘保护’好自己，我也是下了一番功夫的。”
2018年夏天，老板何某某为某集团有限公司承接杭州市某过江隧道PPP项目一事找到时任杭州市大江东产业集聚区党工委书记、管委会主任何美华，承诺办成后给他1000万元好处费，为了“保险”，双方约定待何美华退休后予以兑现。

After accepting the entrustment, He Meihua took advantage of his position as deputy secretary of the Yiwu Municipal Party Committee and mayor to provide assistance to Wang in the above-mentioned matters.
In the meantime, Wang gave He Moumou 1 million yuan, and He Meihua accepted the 100,000 yuan sent by He Moumou.
He Meihua reflected on herself: "After this 'operation', I left my brother with the impression that he would take money to do things, which led him to be unscrupulous, under the banner of me, to accept a lot of money and use bribes as an excuse to help. I bought high-end furniture with the money.” According to statistics, from 2007 to 2013, He Meihua took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others, and jointly accepted 5.72 million yuan in bribes with He Moumou.
