73年前の26日、金堂の壁画などが焼けて「文化財防火デー」を定めるきっかけになった奈良県斑鳩町の法隆寺で防火訓練が行われました。
「文化財防火デー」は昭和24年1月26日に法隆寺にある国宝の金堂で火事が起き、壁画などが焼損したことをきっかけに定められました。
この日に合わせて寺は毎年防火訓練を行っていて、26日は訓練に先立って焼損した壁画などが保管されている収蔵庫で法要が営まれました。
このあと訓練が始まり、参加した寺の職員が収蔵庫の屋根に取り付けられた消火装置を動かして、正常に放水が行われるか確認していました。
例年、地元の消防などによる放水訓練も行われていましたが、新型コロナの感染対策のため、去年に続いてことしも取りやめられました。
法隆寺の古谷正覚住職は「コロナ禍で訓練を一部縮小することになり残念です。金堂の火災から70年以上たちますが火災を忘れず、文化財の大切さを改めて知っていただきたい」と話していました。
東京 港区 迎賓館でも消火訓練
