Nominated six times, she has never won the statuette!

Danièle Thompson, director of

La Bûche

and screenwriter of

La Grande Vadrouille

and

Rabbi Jacob

, will be the president of the 47th Cesar ceremony.

We are very happy to announce that the great screenwriter and filmmaker Danièle Thompson will preside over the 47th Cesar Ceremony on February 25 on the @olympiahall stage, and in the clear and exclusively on @canalplus #César2022 pic.twitter. com/YFDwDeTlyU

At the age of 80, Danièle Thompson, nominated for the Best Screenplay Oscar for

Cousin, Cousin

in 1976, succeeds Roschdy Zem at the head of a ceremony in search of a new lease of life after several controversies (Roman Polanski, naked intervention by Corinne Masiero, lack of diversity, opacity of the former management under Alain Terzian…).

Now organized under the supervision of Véronique Cayla and the filmmaker Éric Toledano, the Césars are therefore expected at the turn.

The Césars unveil the nominated films and artists this Wednesday.

The 4,363 cinema professionals who are members of the Academy will have one month to vote and decide between them, in 24 categories.

The favorites of this 47th Cesar ceremony

After the Palme d'or awarded to

Titane

by Audrey Ducournau and the Golden Lion awarded to

L'Événement

by Audrey Diwan, the Académie des César will find it difficult to ignore female talent.

To date, only filmmaker Tonie Marshall has been awarded in the best director category.

Aline

, Valérie Lemercier's biopic on Céline Dion, and the

Black Box

thrillers with Pierre Niney or

Bac Nord

should do well. The rock opera

Annette

by Leos Carax or the fresco on the

Onoda war, 10,000 nights in the jungle

 and the whodunit

Médecin de Nuit

are outsiders.

A tribute to Jean-Paul Belmondo

The Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques pays tribute to Jean-Paul Belmondo, who died on September 6, 2021, by dedicating to him the poster for this 47th edition, a triptych of shots from Jean-Luc Godard's cult film,

Pierrot le crazy

, where the actor gave the reply to Anna Karina.

The event, led by master of ceremonies Antoine de Caunes, will take place at the Olympia and will be broadcast on Canal+ on Friday 25 February.
