On January 24, a loud bang suddenly came from a square in Pingchang County, Sichuan Province. A huge white smoke suddenly rose from the scene, and many manhole covers flew up. The scene was a mess.
Witnesses at the scene said that a boy greedily threw firecrackers into the sewer of the square, causing the biogas in the sewer to detonate, and five cement manhole covers and some floor tiles were blown away instantly, causing two people passing by the square to be injured because they could not dodge in time.
After the accident, local public security, fire and 120 emergency rescue personnel rushed to the scene for treatment, and the injured were quickly sent to the hospital for treatment. The firefighters diluted the explosion wellhead with water to prevent secondary accidents.
At present, the local public security department is investigating and looking for the child who fired the gun.
Sichuan Fire Protection reminded that the Spring Festival is approaching, parents must remind children to stay away from or avoid sewage wells, septic tanks and sewer mouths when setting off firecrackers, so as not to detonate biogas and cause harm.
