The Civil Court of Appeal in Kuwait issued a final ruling to compensate 162 citizens who were victims of real estate fraud, who are victims of one of the largest companies whose operators were convicted of money laundering and fraud crimes under the Court of Cassation ruling in 2019.
This ruling is the first judicial precedent for a lawsuit filed collectively by 162 victims of one company, who incurred losses of more than 6.5 million dinars in the price of fake homes in the United States through real estate exhibitions.
The defense of the victims, lawyer Ali Al-Attar, told Al-Qabas newspaper: Now the executive and banking authorities must judge by applying the money-laundering law by tracking money inside or even outside Kuwait to return the rights to their owners.
He added, "This ruling is the first in a series of 13 real estate fraud companies."
