  Editor's note

With the gradual implementation of the "double reduction" policy, how do students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders evaluate this, and what changes have taken place in their study, life and work?

Zhengzhou No. 16 Senior Middle School Junior Reporter Group conducted a micro-investigation on these three groups. Although the sample size is small, it has been restored to a certain extent from the perspective of the parties and peers, which may be used as a "double reduction" effect. A reference for inspection is hereby published.

  --------------------

The "double reduction" policy is like a storm, changing the face of the entire basic education.

Many policies are taking root, such as "prohibiting subject remedial classes to use holidays to make up lessons" and "promoting rich after-school delayed services", affecting students and benefiting thousands of households.

How do students, parents and teachers view "double reduction" and what impact does the "double reduction" policy have on school education?

With these questions in mind, Zhengzhou No. 16 Senior Middle School Junior Reporter Group (hereinafter referred to as the "Little Reporter Group") visited some junior high school students, parents and teachers.

  Students: Fun and Anxiety Coexist

Among the 60 junior high school students interviewed, 56 expressed their "very understanding" of the "double reduction" policy. They believe that the "double reduction" is to reduce the burden of students studying cultural courses, so that everyone can have more time to exercise. Health, increase extracurricular knowledge, cultivate innovative spirit and comprehensive quality, etc.; another 4 people said that they "know" or "do not understand very well". They also believe that learning is their own business, and they need to grasp it well. How to learn How to learn, has little to do with reducing the burden.

With the gradual implementation of the "double reduction" policy, 90% of the interviewed students found that they had more spare time and less pressure on their studies.

There are two main reasons: First, 95% of the students said that the amount of homework assigned by teachers in various subjects in the school has been significantly reduced, and most of them can be completed in the school; second, 87% of the students said that remedial classes are not allowed on weekends, winter and summer vacations. Carry out subject-based courses, and the amount of homework in other courses is also much less.

So, how to make good use of the extra extra-curricular time?

Lu Yiming said: "The school has arranged a wealth of club activities. We can participate in the shuttlecock club, basketball club, chorus, art club, orchestra, etc. according to our interests. The instructor will lead you to carry out various activities; of course, we You can also study and read books in the classroom, and a teacher is responsible for answering questions.”

Chen Feilong said: "Before the policy was introduced, I wanted to study art, but at that time I couldn't finish my homework on weekends, and I couldn't take into account cultural studies and interests. Now my father signed me up for a weekend painting class."

Of course, nearly 10% of the interviewed students said that the pressure of daily study in school is still very high, and the academic burden has not been relieved too much.

Su Huyu said: "After all, we still have to take the middle school entrance examination. Only half of the students can go to ordinary high schools. The proportion of good high schools is even lower. There is competition and pressure. It is still difficult."

There are also a few students who said that the amount of homework assigned by the teacher has been reduced, but the difficulty has not decreased.

Shao Meiqi said: "In terms of academic performance, I am a middle school student - those top students do not have to go to remedial classes and their grades are very good - weekends, winter and summer vacations are not allowed to take cultural remedial classes. How should the road of attack be taken?"

"Double reduction" advocates reducing the burden and improving the quality. If there is a "reduction", there is an "increase". While reducing the heavy burden of students' homework, what content should be added to improve the comprehensive quality of middle school students?

The students' expectations for the future of "Double Reduction" are mainly based on two points: one is to hope that the school's aesthetic education courses will be more complete, so that the activities of art and music classes can be enriched, and there will be more stages for students to show their talents; It is hoped that the school will organize more scientific and social practice activities during the holidays to cultivate students' hands-on ability and social practice ability.

Parents: Some people are happy and some are worried

The small reporter group interviewed 60 parents, and 93% of the interviewed parents expressed their understanding, welcome and support for the "double reduction" policy.

It is manifested in two aspects.

One is to reduce the financial burden of parents.

The parents of Wu Yiming said that now, the state has stricter management of after-school tutoring institutions, and parents are more rational, and no longer blindly follow the trend and spend money on tutoring classes to "involve".

The second is to reduce the mental burden of parents.

In the past, children’s homework was piled up in mountains, and when parents came home from work, they often quarreled with their children because of homework problems, and it was common for blood pressure to rise. They basically completed the written homework at school, and only had some oral homework to read and memorize at home. The parents were freed from it, and their mood was much better than before, and they had more time to spend freely.

The parents of classmate Liu Shanshan also showed a circle of friends to the small reporter troupe. It was a video of her daughter playing the guzheng. It looks like my daughter can play the piano for an hour a day."

Of course, 7% of the parents surveyed expressed concern that they let their children maintain high-intensity study in their spare time to cope with the entrance examination.

The parents of Li Zisheng said: "Three years later, in the middle school entrance examination, admission to a good high school still depends on the scores - some high schools have a score of 6560. If the score is not above the threshold, you will not be able to enter a good high school. "

Some parents said that if the admission mode of the middle school entrance examination is not changed, it will be difficult for the "double reduction" to be truly implemented, and it will be difficult to completely reduce the learning burden of junior high school students.

  Teacher: "Double reduction" is imperative

All the interviewed teachers expressed their full support for the country's "double reduction" policy.

Teacher Nan Lin said: "It is imperative, but not cured! I hope that the 'double reduction' will be implemented in various places, rather than a formality."

  Why do you say that?

Teacher Nan believes that the current junior high school students are under too much pressure to study. They seem to have only learning in their lives. They sit in the classroom from morning to night and study all the time. They rarely have time for recreational activities. vitality.

Teacher Lou Qiuli believes that the implementation of the "double reduction" policy will leave enough time for children to rest, so that children can cultivate and develop hobbies and interests other than learning, so that students can grow up in a more sunny and healthy way.

The introduction of the "double reduction" policy has also deeply affected teaching, and teachers are adapting to the changes.

Teacher Li Fei said that the difficulty of teaching is generally reduced, and the explanation of difficult test questions is reduced in the classroom, and more emphasis is placed on grasping the basics and improving students' thinking ability.

Teacher Song Yanmin said that due to the introduction of the "double reduction" policy, the city and district have cancelled the final exam, which means it is no longer necessary to rush classes for the exam.

Teachers also made some suggestions for parents and students.

One is to strengthen communication between home and school.

Although the amount of homework has been significantly reduced, the quality of homework of a small number of children has not improved. Strengthening home-school communication can allow teachers to further grasp the situation of children outside of school and make suggestions for children's self-study planning.

The second is to truly understand the original intention of the policy, so that children can develop in an all-round way; to eliminate prejudice against vocational schools, to establish the most glorious idea of labor, to actively cooperate with the implementation of national policies, and not to be "brainwashed" by cram schools.

The third is to respect the child's choice.

Parents should discover their children’s hobbies and interests as soon as possible, and while supporting their children, respect their children’s wishes and choices, and do not impose many of their own opinions on their children; Roads can be chosen.
