China News Service, Hohhot, January 22 (Reporter Zhang Wei) At the "Two Sessions" in Inner Mongolia held here, Chen Baishan, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of Inner Mongolia Forest Industry Group, said that Inner Mongolia Daxing'anling plans to use 5 years to build Linte products and green Food and drug production and processing industry cluster, China's largest carbon sink reserve base and carbon sink project reserve area, landmark eco-tourism health care destination.

"By 2025, industrial transformation and upgrading will be initially completed."

The "Tianbao Project" has been implemented for 20 years, and the Daxing'an Mountains in Inner Mongolia have "absorbed fans" by their appearance and "out of the circle" by their value.

The primeval forest turns "green" into gold: from selling wood to "selling" scenery

The Daxing'anling ecological function area in Inner Mongolia is 106,700 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 78.39%. It is the best-preserved and largest key state-owned forest area in China.

In 1952, the Daxing'an Mountains in Inner Mongolia were developed and constructed, and shouldered the mission of economic construction in New China.

The natural landscape is magnificent, and the advantages of green resources and ice and snow resources are outstanding. Since the logging of Daxing'an Mountains in Inner Mongolia was completely stopped in 2015, eco-tourism has been vigorously developed, and the economic development of forest areas has gradually transformed from selling wood to "selling" scenery.

Chen Baishan introduced that from south to north, from all-for-one tourism to four-season tourism, the Daxing'anling forest area of Inner Mongolia has built 34 nature reserves, forest parks and wetland parks, covering 1.8073 million hectares, and has successively built one 5A-level tourist attraction and three 4A-level tourist attractions. level scenic spots, several 3A-level scenic spots.

"We have explored a series of experience and practices that can be replicated and promoted, and tourism has shown a strong momentum of development." Chen Baishan said.

In 2021, Inner Mongolia's Daxing'anling will deeply develop tourism products such as forest health care, extreme cold challenge, source exploration, research and practice, development experience, wetland sightseeing, etc., forming a development pattern of "prosperity in winter and summer, supplementation in spring and autumn, and travel in all seasons".

The reporter learned that Daxinganling, Inner Mongolia has now included 94 key tourism projects in the forest area in the "Hulunbuir City Global Tourism Development Plan", 32 projects have been included in the "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region "Wu'a Haiman" Integrated Tourism Development Plan", 35 projects Incorporated into the "Global Tourism Development Plan of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region", and constantly striving towards the goal of building a landmark eco-tourism and wellness destination.

In 2021, the Daxing'anling forest area in Inner Mongolia will receive 202,500 tourists, and the direct tourism income will be 11.5614 million yuan (RMB, the same below).

"Tall Shang" in the deep mountains and old forests: air is valuable

As the main body of terrestrial ecosystem, forest is the largest carbon sink on land. Increasing forest carbon sink is one of the cost-effective ways to deal with climate change.

According to the calculation of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, the total carbon storage of the Daxing'an Mountains in Inner Mongolia is 1.72 billion tons, and the ecosystem can fix 85 million tons of carbon dioxide annually.

On April 8, 2021, the forestry carbon sink (VCS) of Inner Mongolia Forestry Industry Group was listed for the first time for bidding, and the total price was 2.99 million yuan.

Daxinganling, Inner Mongolia, listed and sold 8 VCS carbon sequestration products through the Inner Mongolia Environment and Energy Exchange throughout the year, with a total of 763,000 tons and a transaction volume of 14.65 million yuan. The transaction price also increased from 11.5 yuan per ton at the beginning of the year to 42.4 yuan per ton.

Chen Baishan said that during the 20 years since the implementation of the "Tianbao Project", the forest area of the Daxing'an Mountains in Inner Mongolia has increased by 1 million hectares, with a net increase of 300 million cubic meters and a net increase of 50%, ranking first in China's "Tianbao Project" implementation area.

The data shows that since the pilot in 2014, as of December 2021, Daxinganling, Inner Mongolia has sold 1.285 million tons of carbon sink products, with a total transaction value of 21.09 million yuan.

In Chen Baishan's view, it is necessary to protect the green forests of the Daxing'an Mountains in Inner Mongolia, ensure the "double growth" of forest area and accumulation, increase the increase in the carbon sink of the ecosystem, set up a forest and grass carbon sink pilot, and build China's largest carbon sink reserve base and carbon sink. The project reserve area is an important way to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality in Inner Mongolia.

At present, the three newly invested and developed VCS standard carbon sink projects with a total scale of 3 million mu in Daxing'anling, Inner Mongolia are about to achieve project filing, and it is expected that the issuance and the first batch of sales will be realized in 2022.

"The first issue is conservatively estimated to generate 5 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalents for carbon sink products, and the estimated output value exceeds 100 million yuan based on the current market value." Chen Baishan said.
