[Beijing Winter Olympics] About 1,200 torchbearers for the Beijing Winter Olympics, the oldest is 86 years old and the youngest is 14 years old

  On January 21, the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee held a press briefing for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Torch Relay.

Yan Cheng, Executive Director of the Dispatching Center of the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games Operational Headquarters, introduced relevant information about the torchbearers.

Yan Cheng said that there are about 1,200 torchbearers for the Beijing Winter Olympics and about 600 torchbearers for the Winter Paralympics.

  Torchbearers of the Winter Olympics come from all walks of life, most of them have made outstanding achievements or made outstanding contributions in this system and field, and they are quite representative and advanced.

Among them, there are not only advanced model representatives at all levels in the country, but also advanced representatives and celebrities from all walks of life in science, education, culture, and health.

Among them, the oldest is 86 years old and the youngest is 14 years old. 53% of them have won honors at or above the provincial and ministerial level, and 57% of them are representatives of production and work.

Torch bearers also have international friends from more than 20 countries and regions.
