The body of an American man was found surrounded by more than 100 snakes

US police found a Maryland man dead in his home surrounded by more than 100 venomous and non-venomous snakes.

Officials said, according to the New York Post, that police responded to a call from a neighbor of the 49-year-old victim, who told her he saw the man lying unconscious after he went to check on him.

The Charles County Sheriff's Department said ambulance personnel found the man lying on the ground, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, noting that the body had been taken to the Baltimore Chief Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.

Also, according to "Russia Today", the police found more than 100 snakes of several different types inside the house, which the neighbors were not aware of.

The Charles County Animal Control Association, which works to rescue reptiles from homes, said it was the largest group of snakes it had seen in the county with over 30 years of experience.
