When it works, there's no reason to stop.

This is obviously Disney's logic with the live-action adaptations of its great classics.

Latest:

The Aristocats.

According to Deadline, the cult cartoon is in preliminary development at Mickey's home, with Will Gluck directing and Keith Bunin (

En Avant

) writing the screenplay.

Will Gluck is used to directing films with digital animals since he was behind the camera on

Peter Rabbit

and its sequel.

After the rabbits, therefore, he will tackle the somewhat snobbish cats, Duchesse and her kittens Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse.

Feline cardboard

Released in 1970 (and the following year in France), the original

Aristocats

film was a hit at the box office, generating $191 million in worldwide revenue, and winning at the top of the rankings, particularly in France.

A success undoubtedly linked to the fact that the action of the film takes place in France.

After the recent successes of

Aladdin

, The

Lion King

, or even

Beauty and the Beast

, Disney therefore seems set to launch remakes of all its live-action films.

In addition to The Aristocats, the studios have already launched production or pre-production of

The Little Mermaid

,

Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs

,

Bambi

, or

Hercules

, among others, as well as

Pinocchio

,

Peter Pan

and

Merlin the Magician

, planned for a release on Disney+.

No release date has yet been announced for

The Aristocats

.
