Few destinations in southern Europe offer as much and as diverse as Andalusia. Its eight provinces reveal to the visitor thousands of towns full of history; cities with a great wealth of monuments such as Córdoba or Granada; more than 800 kilometers of coastline and nature; Natural Parks and an internationally recognized gastronomy. Andalusia is synonymous with joy and tradition. But, also much more. Its letter of introduction includes a warm climate, ideal during all times of the year, and a folklore and culture with a unique touch that conquers all travelers. During 2021, about 21 million tourists visited Andalusia. Now, the community is preparing more than ever to welcome new visitors with joy and, above all, a lot of security. It estimates that this year more than 25 million travelers will enjoy their experiences. The guarantees of the destination are guaranteed by the constant effort of the tourism sector that has not stopped facing each of the circumstances and demands in this complex era marked by covid-19. In addition, the community has made available to non-resident international travelers free insurance with covid-19 coverage for stays in any regulated establishment.

Andalusia, pure history

Tradition and legacy are, without a doubt, the hallmarks of the extensive Andalusian cultural offer. Tourists can live experiences and attractions in Andalusia such as 'Andalusia is flamenco', the axis of proposals for visitors related to this art recognized as Intangible Heritage by UNESCO. An offer throughout the territory and multiple resources that can be a first approach to flamenco or a complete discovery that will lead travelers to learn, for example, to differentiate one style from another. Beyond the different events related to this art, there are specific flamenco routes in all the provinces, places with a great flamenco tradition that keep in their memory the roots of this art and that make renowned artists such as Paco de Lucía, Camarón , José Mercé or Sara Baras. On these routes, the visitor will visit tablaos, but also interpretation centers and will soak up this purely Andalusian art.

And if we talk about history, we cannot miss the proposals for the commemoration of the V Centenary of the first Around the World, which offer a complete program of activities together with other countries linked to the Magellan expedition. 500 years ago Seville and Sanlúcar de Barrameda were the starting point of the 1st Around the World, one of the most extraordinary adventures of Humanity that made Andalusia the nerve center of the Spanish Empire and the heartbeat of Europe. Today, the Andalusian territory once again bets on a historical journey and on the occasion of the anniversary it offers a new opportunity to connect its visitors with the world through the strategic project 'Andalusia, Origin and Destination',which will develop more than a hundred actions in the coming years and offer travelers sustainable and original tourist experiences such as gastronomic routes, themed theater and opera shows, nightly gymkhanas and storytelling suitable for the whole family.

Finally, another of the big bets for this 2022 is 'Andalusia leaves its mark', which brings together the equestrian tourism offer, with activities in the network of equestrian trails and multiple proposals around the horse. Currently, tourism on horseback is a fun, original and different way of approaching Andalusia and there are already many companies and riding schools that offer this type of proposal. Tourists will discover, on the back of a horse, spectacular mountain ranges and countryside impregnated with color, they will live peaceful sunsets on warm sand beaches and walk along almost virgin paths to which they would not have access otherwise. Andalusia on horseback offers unforgettable experiences where sport, nature and adventure go hand in hand. And it is that, in this sense,It should be noted that this community is a privileged destination for the practice of any sports discipline. Andalusia is rich in natural spaces and a great attraction for lovers, for example, of skiing or pedaling. An example: the area offers a wide range of possibilities in routes and routes to do on the bike such as Sierra Nevada, La Alpujarra, Sierra Cabrera or Vejer, which are ideal enclaves to practice mountain biking and soak up the beauty of the environment while the body is exercised.Sierra Cabrera or Vejer, which are ideal enclaves to practice mountain biking and soak up the beauty of the surroundings while exercising your body.Sierra Cabrera or Vejer, which are ideal enclaves to practice mountain biking and soak up the beauty of the surroundings while exercising your body.
