As it has been 22 days since the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons came into effect, the Japan Confederation of Atomic Bomb Victims' Association issued a statement saying, "It is urgent to break the myth of deterrence of nuclear weapons and continue to appeal for anti-humanity. It is an issue for us, "and we are requesting the government to participate in the treaty promptly.

The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which prohibits the use, development, and possession of nuclear weapons, came into effect on January 22, last year, and it will be one year from the entry into force on 22nd.

At the same time, the Japan Confederation Association issued a statement.

The statement evaluates the entry into force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, saying, "We have taken a big step forward, with the wishes of the A-bomb survivors who continued to demand the abolition of nuclear weapons not to let anyone experience the same suffering again."

He touched on a joint statement released this month by nuclear-weapon states such as the United States, Russia, and China, saying, "We cling to the myth of deterrence of nuclear weapons, emphasize the legitimacy of possession, and the existence of nuclear weapons itself is the greatest danger of use. "I will not try to omit it," he said. "It is an urgent task to break down the myth of deterrence and continue to appeal for the anti-humanity of nuclear weapons."

In addition, we urge the Government of Japan to promptly participate in the treaty and to make diplomatic efforts to encourage the nuclear powers and their allies to participate in the treaty.
