• A fourth report concerning the suspicious actions of a 40-45 year old man was recorded by the Ille-et-Vilaine gendarmerie on Tuesday.

  • A prowler is suspected of approaching the schoolboys and schoolgirls and trying to take them away by force.

  • A young girl was reportedly forced to board her vehicle in Liffré, north east of Rennes.

A fourth report which worries the investigators of Ille-et-Vilaine. Fifteen days after the kidnapping attempts to which several college students were subjected in Javené, Liffré and Saint-Germain-du-Pinel, the "prowler" sought by the gendarmes would have cracked down again. According to the gendarmerie, a man approached a young boy in Javené, near Fougères, around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday January 18. It is an 11-year-old girl who would have seen the scene after getting off the bus at the Croix-Guérin stop. “She would have seen a man, who could correspond to the first call for witnesses, pull a young boy's school bag. Frightened, she would then have been pursued by this individual to her home, in which she finally took refuge, ”says Colonel Sébastien Jaudon. The boy victim has still not made himself known to investigators.

A neighborhood survey is still in progress and forensic operations have been carried out on the spot, specifies the gendarmerie, which has relaunched a second call for witnesses.

Anyone witnessing the suspicious behavior of this individual is invited to contact the departmental brigade of information and judicial investigations of Rennes without delay at 02.99.32.53.50 or dial 17 in case of emergency.

Schoolgirl bound with tape

On January 4 and 5, three reports of a man's suspicious behavior were recorded. According to the gendarmes, a teenager was forcibly taken away in a car in Liffré, near Rennes. She was reportedly tied up with tape before being released a kilometer away. The suspect is a man of about 40-45 years old, of Caucasian type, traveling in a gray or black car. Several dozen calls were received after the call for witnesses.

Following three reports that a man allegedly approached minors in college on January 4 and 5 in Saint-Germain-du-Pinel, Javené and Liffré, a call for witnesses was broadcast on January 6.

The latter generated dozens of calls.

The information collected is still being used by investigators from the Ille-et-Vilaine gendarmerie.

Another testimony had been recorded in Nouvoitou, south of Rennes, for similar facts without it being known whether the cases are linked.
