After a ski accident in the French Alps, Ulliel was flown by helicopter on Tuesday to a hospital in Grenoble, where he died on Wednesday from his injuries.
The actor made his debut in 1999 with the film Alias and has also appeared in La bascule, Juliette and Les égarés, for which he won the French film award César in 2004.
He made an international breakthrough in 2007 when he starred in Hannibal Rising and has since made films such as Les Cinq Légendes and Saint Laurent.
He also appears in the upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight where he plays the character Midnight Man.
Gaspard Ulliel turned 37 years old.
