Hyogo Prefecture announced on the 18th that it was newly confirmed that 1645 people were infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture.
The number of infected people in the prefecture per day exceeded 1342 on the 16th, the highest number ever.
With this, the total number of people confirmed to be infected in the prefecture is 87,180.
The prefecture also announced that an infected man in his 90s had died.
So far, 1,400 people have died of infection in the prefecture.
