His favorite quote:

“Reality doesn't matter in the slightest.

What matters is how we are perceived: how others see us, what we let them imagine.

I look happy, don't I?

Why this book?

  • Because this story is captivating, we follow the evolution of the two friends

and their friendship from chapter to chapter. The place of men, of first love, the game of provocation to test feelings… There are many interesting reflections, especially on photography. What do you put in a shot? Yourself or an image? What do we choose to show and why? What drives our decisions? Can teenage friendships last?

  • Because Silvia Avallone wonderfully describes the ambivalence of feelings,

the union of these two solitudes that seek each other, lose each other, but cannot live far from each other.

His writing is precise (thanks to the translator), we dive into each scene, into each living space (Biella, Bologna, etc.).

It's full of contrasts, of opposition, no one is black or white, everyone must build themselves and take, if necessary, the path of redemption.

  • Because we are witnessing the digital revolution, the arrival of the internet,

blogs in 2003, the place it takes in daily life.

The advantages, the disadvantages and above all the dangers.

Can we build a life on appearance?

This book has been read with

 great interest.

The friendship between the two girls is captivating but we also see that the place of their parents is important.

This brings us back to our own history and allows us to question the choices we have made.
